5 Smart Blockchain.com Wallet Recovery Fixes

1

Use your recovery phrase

If you wrote down a 12-word phrase, restore the wallet with it and set a new password. This skips everything else.

2

Find your wallet ID

Search your email for messages from Blockchain.info or Blockchain.com. The wallet ID was often sent when you signed up.

3

Look for backup files

Old wallets offered backup files such as wallet.aes.json, sometimes emailed automatically. These hold your encrypted keys.

4

Recover the main password

With a backup file or wallet ID data, we search for the password using your memories, offline.

5

Recover a second password

Some users added a second password for sending coins. We can search for that one separately.

Why Old Blockchain.info Wallets Get Stuck

Blockchain.info was one of the first popular bitcoin wallets. It encrypted your keys in your browser, so the company never knew your password. That design protects you from hackers, but it also means nobody at Blockchain.com can let you back in.

Blockchain.com wallet recovery therefore depends on what you still hold: the phrase, the wallet ID, a backup file or old emails. With one of those plus your password clues, the odds are often good.

What to Gather

  • Your wallet ID or the email used to sign up
  • Any wallet.aes.json or similar backup files
  • Emails from Blockchain.info, especially backups
  • Every password idea from those years
  • One bitcoin address from the wallet, if known
