Electrum Wallet Recovery: Passwords, Seeds and Old Files
Electrum wallet recovery is often simpler than people expect. If you have your 12-word Electrum seed, you can restore the wallet without the password. If the seed is lost but the wallet file is still on your computer, the password can be searched for. Start with the five fixes below.

Restore from the seed
Create a new wallet in Electrum, choose I already have a seed, and enter your words. No password is needed.
Pick the right seed type
Electrum uses its own seed format. Typing an Electrum seed into a BIP39 wallet, or the reverse, shows an empty wallet.
Find old wallet files
Look in the Electrum wallets folder for default_wallet and any older files. Copy them before opening.
Search for the password
With the wallet file and your password clues, we run a targeted, offline search.

A Word of Warning
