MultiBit Wallet Recovery for Classic and HD Wallets
MultiBit wallet recovery starts with finding your old files, because the software itself was discontinued in 2017 and no longer works well on modern computers. Your coins are still on the blockchain. Find the .wallet or .key files, copy them, and then we can unlock them and help you move the coins to a modern wallet.

4 Proven MultiBit Wallet Recovery Steps
Find the files
On Windows, look in AppData Roaming for MultiBit or MultiBitHD folders. Search the whole drive for .wallet and .key files too.
Copy everything
Copy the folders, including the backup subfolders, to a USB drive. Older backups may use passwords you remember better.
Identify the version
Classic used .wallet files with optional .key exports. HD used a 12-word phrase and a folder starting with mbhd.
Unlock and move
We recover the password or rebuild from the phrase, then you move the coins to a supported wallet.
