Ledger Recovery When You Are Locked Out
Ledger recovery is usually simple if you still have your 24-word recovery phrase: reset the device, or buy a new one, and restore. Your coins live on the blockchain, not inside the Ledger. If the phrase is lost or incomplete, stop entering PINs now. A Ledger wipes itself after three wrong attempts.

- Passphrase cases
- No recovery, no fee
5 Proven Ledger Recovery Options
Forgot PIN, have phrase
Let the device reset after three wrong PINs, then restore with your 24 words and choose a new PIN.
Broken or lost Ledger
Restore your 24 words on a new device bought from the official maker. Nothing on the old one is needed.
Forgot the passphrase
If you set an extra passphrase, your 24 words open an empty wallet. We search for the passphrase from your clues.
No phrase at all
The hardest case. Modern Ledgers use a secure chip. We will be honest about whether anything is possible.

- Do not update firmware on a locked device.
How Ledger Recovery Works With Us
For phrase and passphrase cases, we never need your device at all. Known words are shared using our split method and tested offline. For physical cases, you ship the device with tracking to our Los Angeles office after we sign an NDA. Read more on hardware wallet recovery.
